VIEWING MULTIPLE TOPICS ON SCREEN: You can choose to see more than 10 Topics at a time ... Log In and choose "Preferences" from the top bar on the Forum page. Scroll down and Change the "Default Topics Returned" parameter to 25 or 50, and save the changes. Since this setting is stored in your browser 'cookies' (if enabled), it seems to use that stored value even if you are not logged in. So, if you use a PC that you haven't logged into the forum from, the setting still seem to remain at the default.
EXTERNAL PHOTO LINKS ON FORUM: You can still use external photo links in your posts on the new forum. They follow the rules of any link in that they have to have the URL link qualified down to the full image file name (example: .jpg). The links will open in a new browser window, the same as an uploaded image attached to a post. Since an image attachment to any post does not display inline with the post, the results are the same. You can use multiple external links within a post. This link is from photos on a site from Don Clink's 'Deuce@75' albums:

Using links from photo sites such as Photobucket can help in "size" issue with uploaded attachment files. For best viewing in web browsers, photos should be around the 800x600 pixel range, and probably not more than 1024x768. Most cameras today store HUGE jpg image files, as the default settings are in the 7, 8, 10, and 12Mb image sizes. The image files that are then attached are very large, and the browser can't display the full image size without using the scroll bars. Use the re-sizing functions of your photo editing software to reduce the image to 800x600, which reduces the file sixe and the image load time in the browser. Don uses Google's free Picassa3 software, which is an excellent photo management product. All of the photo albums of the Deuce, Grand National, and Auburn that are links on the NORG site were built using Picassa's web creation functions. And it's free? (THANKS to Don Clink for the info!)

On this page Members can add optional information such as their City,State, Country; Occupation; Hobbies: list a Homepage; list AOL Instant Messanger Handle; Signature; "Make Email Address viewable to others;" and even change the number of Default Topics shown on a page. WHEN others click on your profile, they will see this information.

Good Afternoon

I recently entered my ‘37 Ford Model 78 Deluxe in an AACA Grand National event. My judging report came back with 2 deductions: one for seat cushions and a second for wheel rims. I am looking to see if I can get any pointers of photos of the as manufactured cushions and wheels. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Some other folks may chime in with specific advice. First, I wanted to ask you if you have the 1937 Ford Book from the Early Ford V-8 Club? It is available in the Online Store on the left, or at this link: https://shop.efv8.org/collections/ford-books/products/1937-ford-book-softbound.

Did the AACA judges tell you what specifically was wrong with the rims? I personally don't see anything incorrect about them from the picture.

Hi Ken

Thank you for responding. I do have the book you mentioned. It was with us through the entire restoration. It was a huge help.

Unfortunately AACA does not give exact feedback.

In doing sim AI research, it mentions I am missing a pin stripe on the rims, the tightly pulled buttons on the seat cushions (creating the diamond look) is not original as well as the fabric on the cushions.

Finewine, please understand that for the most part, the AACA judges on the quality of the restoration vs. the correctness.
That is the main reason I have never given too much stock in their awards.
Within the photo of the tire / wheel I noted you have incorrect valve stem caps; a certain deduction on the Ford V8 Club concourse.
If you are truly serious about absolute correctness, you would be best served by having your car judged at a Club (national) meet or preferably two or more.
Oh, quick question... are the tires white on both sides (double whites)?

finewine, Mike is correct, having a "brand specific vehicle", such as a V-8 Ford, Model A ford, Corvette, etc. judged by their own Club Judging Standards is far more exacting than judging those vehicles by the A.A.C.A. For example, I don't think there is a more documented vehicle than the Model A Ford, as the Judging Standards are 2" thick and can document a vehicle part down to the production month. As Mike adds, I would take your '37 to a V-8 Ford Club meet and see how your car does.

Finewine: I have been an AACA member since 2016 and at that time I entered my 35 Deluxe Tudor with a 59AB engine in my 1st Nat'l Meet and received a 1st Junior Award ( not the correct engine). Later in the year I entered another AACA Meet for a Senior Award and the incorrect engine was discovered and my car was disqualified. I have shown this car in 4 EFV8COA Nat'l Meets in the Touring Class and have won 1st place in my class each time. I now have a 53 Customline Club Coupe which was restored by the prior owner, but he painted the car two tone in incorrect colors for 1953. I entered the car in the EFV8COA Meet in Franklin, TN in the Touring Class and won 1st in my Class. This car has been entered in numerous AACA Nat'l Meets and it received it's 1st Grand National Award in 2025. To the best of my knowledge, the 53 is correct except for the paint colors. I would love to enter it in another V8 Club Nat'l Meet and have it point judged, but I don't have a truck/trailer so I would have to drive it to the Meet, but there haven't been any close enough to attend. As you can see by my experiences, AACA judging standards are to be taken with a grain of salt!

My apologies everyone, I didn’t intend this to be an AACA vs. EFV-8 .

I hear you all loud and clear about having the car judged by the EFV-8, and I will attempt to this.

I was hoping that I would receive some input as how to better my car.
