Hello again Tom ! Actually glad to hear it's not really necessary to convert to 12v.....that makes things simpler.......I am not adding a/c......and the car is a radio & heater delete car so those aren't an issue.......(I have thought about adding a little heater though.....assuming there is something available in 6v.....the one I saw on Speedway is 12v).....any particular thoughts on adding a heater ? Thanks John

tell you how bad the repro coils are, and how good Skip's coils are, at the insistence of the car owner, because he wanted a black coil! I sent a new repro one to Skip to rebuild

I drove my car for many years without a heater, and was comfortable down to the 40's on sunny days. If it was cloudy, 50 was the lowest that I could be comfortable driving the car. My wife and kids had other ideas. After I installed the heater tha car became more enjoyable to drive in all weather. On hot days, I can turn on the heater blower to help cool the coolant, on high humidity days, the defrosters keep the windshield clear and on cold days it keeps my feet warm. If you can find a nice 41-42 heater, I would install it. It is a much appreciated accessory. Here is a photo of a 1941 -42 Ford heater at the Early Ford V-8 Foundation Museum in Auburn, IN.
