It is not dramatic, but sometimes while driving in second gear and it pops into neutral. The rest of the car is fine. Should I be looking at an adjustment? Certainly not bad enough to pull the transmission. Bill Wife, Anne, loves to drive 'her' Brewster!

Most likely a thrust washer in the transmission is worn (or broken). Easy repair, but...........you have to pull the transmission (and the rear brake rods, and rear end).

Check with Mac Van Pelt. Sometimes that is fixed by new detents in the shift head. http://vanpeltsales.com/

Best to live with it if a new detent spring doesn't help and you don't otherwise have a good reason to pull the transmission. It is a commonplace problem. Neat car, by the way!
