This may be a dumb question but, why are you telling us all of this? Am I missing something? Charlie Stephens

Charlie - this older version of the EFV8 website does not send e-mail notifications to the recipient of a p.m. from this website that they have mail in their Inbox. Unless you routinely check your EFV8 Inbox - which many of us do not - you may find that someone sent you a p.m. several months back that you may only now be responding to. Both Tom and I have experienced this problem personally both between us and with others. Several of us have had this problem so the easiest way to alert someone you have sent them a p.m. is to state so in a reply or in a new discussion thread. The EFV8 administrator has spoken to this problem previously and has also stated the new website tentatively scheduled to come on-line sometime in the 2nd quarter of this year will address this problem.

len47merc.......... I am finally getting back to you on this. I have been heavily testing the new web site, so please excuse the delay. This is the response I recieved from the web hosting company regarding your problem about not being notified when an email is sent. Please check this out and let me know if this works -- or, you have already done this......... This feature already exists within the forum system. It is an option that is up to each user to establish using their forum preferences. When logged as a member, the user will see a “Preferences” link in the Welcome header, between “my inbox” and “logout”. Clicking the link will take the user to the preferences setup page. Scroll down the page to the “preferences” section, and the second option is “Notify me via email of new private message”. The default setting is “no”, but users who wish to be notified may select “yes”. Again, if this is not the solution, please let me know. Web Administrator

Thanks EFV8 WA for weighing in again here. We have conversed about this before and yes - my 'Preferences' have always been selected as 'yes' under the 'Notify me via email of new private message'. Since this was realized to be a problem many others have weighed in here that they are having the same issue, that being they have selected this item 'yes' as well but they, like me, are not receiving e-mail notifications of p.m.s in their EFV8 Inbox. Many of us, when checking our Inboxes when it 'comes to mind', have found e-mails there from months earlier that we never new existed - a bit embarrassing to reply so late so we have been notifying each other in this manner. Prior to typing this reply I did check the preferences section again and found that 'yes' is still selected for this. Note during this entire discussion topic I never received any e-mail notifications of TomO's p.m. replies and relied solely on his replies in this public thread to notify me his p.m. response was in my Inbox. Suggest starting a new discussion thread under a different Topic Title if anyone wishes to continue this discussion. Apologies to TomO. Thanks again - looking forward to the new web site later this year! Steve

Bruce, my preferences were set that way since this version of the Forum was started. Earlier in 2015, I was getting notifications, It stopped sometime in the summer.

I agree with TomO. My preferences were set to send me an e-mail when someone sends me a PM. It's still set that way ,yet I found PMs in my inbox after this issue was brought up earlier. Something is amiss regardless of what they tell you.
