I have removed the glove box and the two screws that hold the lock, but the lock will not come out. Do I have to bend something ? I’m kid enough to get the engine out and instal an 8BA and make it work but I’m not man enough to remove the glove box lock!

Bending shouldn’t be required, just (calm) manipulation of the movable tongue on the lock if similar to that on earlier models. Mine was a tad fussy when I had to remove the clock from the glove lid for repair.

I have removed a Mercury glove box lock many times. The best way is to put some lube around the hole and push the button down and gently rotate/tip the lock to remove. Bill Large
