VIEWING MULTIPLE TOPICS ON SCREEN: You can choose to see more than 10 Topics at a time ... Log In and choose "Preferences" from the top bar on the Forum page. Scroll down and Change the "Default Topics Returned" parameter to 25 or 50, and save the changes. Since this setting is stored in your browser 'cookies' (if enabled), it seems to use that stored value even if you are not logged in. So, if you use a PC that you haven't logged into the forum from, the setting still seem to remain at the default.
EXTERNAL PHOTO LINKS ON FORUM: You can still use external photo links in your posts on the new forum. They follow the rules of any link in that they have to have the URL link qualified down to the full image file name (example: .jpg). The links will open in a new browser window, the same as an uploaded image attached to a post. Since an image attachment to any post does not display inline with the post, the results are the same. You can use multiple external links within a post. This link is from photos on a site from Don Clink's 'Deuce@75' albums:

Using links from photo sites such as Photobucket can help in "size" issue with uploaded attachment files. For best viewing in web browsers, photos should be around the 800x600 pixel range, and probably not more than 1024x768. Most cameras today store HUGE jpg image files, as the default settings are in the 7, 8, 10, and 12Mb image sizes. The image files that are then attached are very large, and the browser can't display the full image size without using the scroll bars. Use the re-sizing functions of your photo editing software to reduce the image to 800x600, which reduces the file sixe and the image load time in the browser. Don uses Google's free Picassa3 software, which is an excellent photo management product. All of the photo albums of the Deuce, Grand National, and Auburn that are links on the NORG site were built using Picassa's web creation functions. And it's free? (THANKS to Don Clink for the info!)
HOW DO I SHOW MY EMAIL ADDRESS ALONG WITH MY USERNAME? You can LogIn on the Forum, and select PREFERENCES. On this page Members can add optional information such as their City,State, Country; Occupation; Hobbies: list a Homepage; list AOL Instant Messanger Handle; Signature; "Make Email Address viewable to others;" and even change the number of Default Topics shown on a page. WHEN others click on your profile, they will see this information.

I have a mostly stock 36 coupe with the three brush generator.I would like to install the generator cut out with a regulator mentioned by
TomO but none of the early V8 suppliers have one in stock even through they list it,nor do they know when the will get one. The fun products site only lists one for 6volt neg. ground. besides changing the route of the amp. gauge wire could I switch to neg. ground?
Tired of adding water to the Batt.

What is the advantage of switching to negative ground? I don't think there is any. If it ain't broke don't fix it until it is.

Fun Projects also has the POS ground regulator listed on their site and it is on back order.

You will have to change your coil if you switch to NEG ground.

Adjust your 3rd brush if you are adding water very often. If you do not drive at night, adjust it for a zero reading on the ammeter with the parking lights on. Check the charge level of the battery after a couple of time driving that way.

seems I read somewhere that the coil/capacitor circuit isn't as efficient if wired "backwards." can't you just turn your headlights on to hold the charging current down??

Thank's bob.I'll try TomO's adjustment advice and keep a lookout for the regulator,I didn't think changing ground would be a good idea.Thank's guys for all the help.

I found this in a MODEL A catalog,
if you are a do it yourself person,
Snyder's has a DIODE for $2.95 comes with instruction using you old cutout, part #a-10155dio
or
they also sell a SEMI-CONDUCTOR CUT-OUT for $56.00 or FORD SCRIPT $73.00
depending if you want plain or FORD SCRIPT
you can call for a catalog,

they way I see the 3 brush system,you set the 3 brush to your driving habits,
if you only drive in the day,set it at 5 amps,
and if you drive it at night set it higher, maybe 10 amps or 15 amps
with lights on it should read just on the charging side, not on discharge.
if you set it for night, and you run during the days, Turn on your lights,
years ago drivers used to maintain there cars and made adjustments,
the way as they drove the cars and were always checking the battery voltage, with a hydrometer
too low adjust the generator to put more out,
too high make the generator to put less out,
its in the owners manuals,

When you get the Fun Projects regulator one of the first instructions is to set the generator third brush. The regulator is nice but not necessary. You can install one when they are available.
