Ken The one on my 42 was definitely black and the firewall was blue. It is my understanding that parts that were bolted on that were steel were painted to keep them from rusting in storage. The interior of the engine compartment was considered utilitarian and not for show. So why go to the trouble of inventorying kc covers in all body colors?

I need to make a correction. #1 should have read Early 1939 Ford used until Oct. 1938 not 39.

I have several from 1939 ( later style )that are in original colors. They have not been repainted. I would say they were the same color as the firewall.

Great info. I will copy the photos and put your info next to each cover. I learn something every day. Thanks. Tried to copy but didn't work for me. Finally figured out how to shrink photo and get it printed!
