Hi: Can anyone ID an H 33170 transmission? Will it mate up to a 1946 flathead engine? And will that combo fit into a 1938 Woody? Cheers, Al

How about a picture? Or a thousand words. The numbers don't mean anything to me but I am used to the earlier cars. Where are you seeing these numbers? Charlie Stephens

Isn't "H" a Lincoln designation? Is it an overdrive transmission? If it is, and your frame is original, it won't fit without lots of mods.

The number H33170 on a transmisson shows that it is a 1937 Lincoln-Zephyr. This is the 3 speed, no overdrive and floor shift. As far as I know it should mate to a 1946 engine and will fit a 1938 Ford. Ratios are the same as Ford. Hope this helps Colin

Colin: Thank you very much for the info. I took pictures today for posting but I guess I don't need to do that now. Cheers, Al

1936 & 37 Lincoln Zephyrs used the Ford transmission. The internals will be the same as Ford.
