I see many good suppliers (C&G for instance) use part # B-7050920 and yet MACS (sorry not fond of) uses 40-705018-A (40 to me indicates 1934) Is one of these correct? Or can someone recommend the correct source? Also, is there a trick to trimming the excess material under the trim after install without scoring the top paint? Thanks!

The Mac's website catalog does not recognize the part number 40-705018-A, but rather has a number 32-14948-1 for a 1932 Ford roof seal. In any event, it appears to be the same material as the offered by C&G under their part number of B-7050920. That rubber insert does the job, but it is not 100% original as it is somewhat narrower than the original material. It is essential that heads of the fasteners that hold down the metal channel be uniformly recessed into the channel; if not the top of the rubber insert will show every unsightly variation. Place an old credit card or something comparable beneath where you want to cut the rubber insert to avoid scratching the paint on the steel channel.

Thank everyone! I got the material on, but it is a little puffy looking. I can live with it. And the "chew" HA

Now the tack strip rubber trim...if it is straight, won't it wrinkle at the 4 corners?
