mechanial brakes or hydraulic ? it could be the tire hitting the brake rod on sharp turns, if it has mech brakes, the stops on turn could be missing or the wrong ones, could use MORE information to dianosis the problem correctly 37Ragtopman hope this helps,

I’m in the process of buying another early V8, this one a ‘36 Phaeton. During the road test yesterday, all was well…until the first turn, when an abrasion-type noise came from the front end. This occurs during turns in either direction (but not when going straight). It sounded like a suspension element might have been contacting / dragging against part of the brake, or that the brake assembly itself may have gone out of true under a cornering load. Car track straight otherwise, no wander or vibration. Would greatly appreciate thoughts before I proceed further. Thank you very much.
