Yes the early parking lights were 41 Mercury only and used until about December of 40 then they switched to the 41 Ford light.

Yes the early 41 Mercury parking lights were Mercury only until Dec 1940 when they switched to using the Ford parking lights. If your car has the 3 pc front fenders/ 1/4" fender moldings/ starter button in the steering column bracket then yours is the early style.

I just started restoring my 1941 Mercury convertible 2 months ago. I have owned it since 1973. I have spent those years searching for parts and doing a lot of research.

Check with SMS in Canby, Oregon. They carry a lot of the old style materials.

No need to be sorry. Your offer to help is appreciated, I just did not understand that you were replying to sq1954. He hasn't posted on the Forum for over a year. I hope someone sees your post and uses the parts to save a 41 Mercury.

TomO, Sorry, I'm a 42 Ford guy. Just didn't want good parts getting trashed. I got the impression sq1954 was offering help to other v8ers, and was suggesting a route he might consider. Am I wrong, sq1954? 42oink

42oink, are you volunteering to be the 1941 Mercury Advisor? Contact Jerry Windle and let him know your qualifications and he can advise you on how to proceed.

Is there a separate advisor for the 41 Merc listed in the v8 magazine? If not, there could be, or maybe be referred to by the current Merc advisor. I rescued all the extension parts for the front of a 41 Merc from a rodder i.e. radiator mounts etc. and some other small parts. If someone needs them, give me a call, let me know. 42oink
