VIEWING MULTIPLE TOPICS ON SCREEN: You can choose to see more than 10 Topics at a time ... Log In and choose "Preferences" from the top bar on the Forum page. Scroll down and Change the "Default Topics Returned" parameter to 25 or 50, and save the changes. Since this setting is stored in your browser 'cookies' (if enabled), it seems to use that stored value even if you are not logged in. So, if you use a PC that you haven't logged into the forum from, the setting still seem to remain at the default.
EXTERNAL PHOTO LINKS ON FORUM: You can still use external photo links in your posts on the new forum. They follow the rules of any link in that they have to have the URL link qualified down to the full image file name (example: .jpg). The links will open in a new browser window, the same as an uploaded image attached to a post. Since an image attachment to any post does not display inline with the post, the results are the same. You can use multiple external links within a post. This link is from photos on a site from Don Clink's 'Deuce@75' albums:

Using links from photo sites such as Photobucket can help in "size" issue with uploaded attachment files. For best viewing in web browsers, photos should be around the 800x600 pixel range, and probably not more than 1024x768. Most cameras today store HUGE jpg image files, as the default settings are in the 7, 8, 10, and 12Mb image sizes. The image files that are then attached are very large, and the browser can't display the full image size without using the scroll bars. Use the re-sizing functions of your photo editing software to reduce the image to 800x600, which reduces the file sixe and the image load time in the browser. Don uses Google's free Picassa3 software, which is an excellent photo management product. All of the photo albums of the Deuce, Grand National, and Auburn that are links on the NORG site were built using Picassa's web creation functions. And it's free? (THANKS to Don Clink for the info!)
HOW DO I SHOW MY EMAIL ADDRESS ALONG WITH MY USERNAME? You can LogIn on the Forum, and select PREFERENCES. On this page Members can add optional information such as their City,State, Country; Occupation; Hobbies: list a Homepage; list AOL Instant Messanger Handle; Signature; "Make Email Address viewable to others;" and even change the number of Default Topics shown on a page. WHEN others click on your profile, they will see this information.

I would like to know how many headliner bows a '40 coupe should have and what order they are in, front to rear. Mine are numbered F22,F23,F25, and F? 01( I think), this last one is the front one. The other three do not seem to fit well at the other places. Are any of these common with sedans? I do have the two wire type on either side of the two rear windows.This car was a basket case when bought.

John,

There are 5 headliner bows
no1 front 81A-705024 Same as sedan
no2 rear 78-725162-A Coupe only
no3 78-725163-A Coupe only
no4 78-775165-A Coupe only
no5 78-725165-A Coupe only

The P/N starting with 78-72 are used in the 37-38 Club Coupe and the 39 coupe also.

The other part is for all coupes 37-40

Thanks for the info TomO. How can I cross reference the numbers stamped on my bows with any of the Ford part numbers you refer to? I can't find any other numbers or markings on any of my bows.

Rather than start a topic on the same subject, I thought I would ask another bow question for the 40 Coupe here:

The five bows are numbered and it's obvious to me they fit in order, 01-05, front to back. First question, are they all lined up the same way with the stamped number on the same side of the car, or not necessarily?
Right now I have too much sag between bows 1 & 2 so I am conducting trial and error to see what's right and if the mounting holes on wither side need to vary as well - some of the bows have three holes to choose from.

I have added a 1/8" dynaliner roof insulation layered I'm up against it in some areas - not sure if that's a hinderance because it's so thin and I can cut away if needed - is the 1/8" too much VS the original style insulation?

Finally, my customer bought this headliner some time ago from Cartouche, which no longer supports the product line. I have no idea how good the product is in terms of accuracy of design so if someone here has an experience with that company it would be another data point - thanks for any help!

Just went through this. All my numbers were, and are, on the drivers side. I 'm not sure if you are saying you covered the mounting holes with the dynaliner. I also used that and did not however run it all the way into the mounting holes-only brought it up to the curve of the roof.
I had no problem with its fit regarding interference with the headliner. After placing the headliner and bows into position, be sure to start in the center and pull to the front and back openings and temporarily clamp to pinch weld lips. This should give a clue as to how it will smoothen out. Which of the mounting holes to use is more a function of trial and error. Hope this may help.

Absolutely, thanks! I did not cover the mounting holes with the dynaliner, it's just a little tight in places at the roof but that could also be my bows out of position for the moment.
