On a 51 Ford V8 passenger car, where does the clutch return spring attach. I see in catalogs, for 51 it is 7" long. Mine is rigged. I can't see where it should be anchored. Anyone know?

Page 86 of the 49-51 Shop Manual says: "A clutch pedal retracting spring is connected to the clutch retracting spring bracket and the clutch lever." The bracket is a small stamped steel part shown in the Chassis Parts catalog, but it doesn't show where it bolts to.

Hi...On my '51 Coupe, the bracket is attached to the center/rear bolt on the sector shaft housing of the steering box. The other three bolts appear to have flat metal tabs of the same thickness under the bolt heads, only without the hole for attaching the spring end. Hope this helps. BT
