I am still using Champions, even all I hear is that they are bad. My '47 runs beautifully. On them.

I use Champion D16 in my '37 no problems. I believe the equivalent is the Autolite 386.

I was a Champion D-16 user for 25 years in my 1934 Fords. Spent a lot of time cleaning and replacing. Switched to Autolite 386 and gave away my Champions. No Comparison!!! Now that's my tried and true opinion, based on my usage. Ran two Great Races on D-16's and replaced them once a week (During the 2 week race). Put in the Autolite 386's, now I do several years worth of Glidden Tours, Shows and loacl tours on a set. Judges may like Champions, but for cars that get driven the choice is Autolite 386. (I think they run better in the hot flathead Fords than the lawnmowers they are made for) Somebody may comment about heat range, but I'm a satified customer.
