D 16 plugs

I have two 21 stud engines and they both have Champion D 16 plugs, came that way. I have looked through the posts about plugs and the D 16 was never mentioned. Are they wrong for this engine? It seems to run fine. Bill

The Champion D 16 is the correct Champion plug if you like Champions. I think the original number was a Champion C-7 or No. 7. The D 16 is the modern replacement for those old numbers. It's an 18mm plug, it's also a lawnmower plug which I used for years before discovering the Autolite 386. The Autolite 386 works much better, lasts longer, runs hotter, looks better and I'm totally satisfied. That's my take on early plugs, now we'll hear from the others.
