VIEWING MULTIPLE TOPICS ON SCREEN: You can choose to see more than 10 Topics at a time ... Log In and choose "Preferences" from the top bar on the Forum page. Scroll down and Change the "Default Topics Returned" parameter to 25 or 50, and save the changes. Since this setting is stored in your browser 'cookies' (if enabled), it seems to use that stored value even if you are not logged in. So, if you use a PC that you haven't logged into the forum from, the setting still seem to remain at the default.
EXTERNAL PHOTO LINKS ON FORUM: You can still use external photo links in your posts on the new forum. They follow the rules of any link in that they have to have the URL link qualified down to the full image file name (example: .jpg). The links will open in a new browser window, the same as an uploaded image attached to a post. Since an image attachment to any post does not display inline with the post, the results are the same. You can use multiple external links within a post. This link is from photos on a site from Don Clink's 'Deuce@75' albums:

Using links from photo sites such as Photobucket can help in "size" issue with uploaded attachment files. For best viewing in web browsers, photos should be around the 800x600 pixel range, and probably not more than 1024x768. Most cameras today store HUGE jpg image files, as the default settings are in the 7, 8, 10, and 12Mb image sizes. The image files that are then attached are very large, and the browser can't display the full image size without using the scroll bars. Use the re-sizing functions of your photo editing software to reduce the image to 800x600, which reduces the file sixe and the image load time in the browser. Don uses Google's free Picassa3 software, which is an excellent photo management product. All of the photo albums of the Deuce, Grand National, and Auburn that are links on the NORG site were built using Picassa's web creation functions. And it's free? (THANKS to Don Clink for the info!)

On this page Members can add optional information such as their City,State, Country; Occupation; Hobbies: list a Homepage; list AOL Instant Messanger Handle; Signature; "Make Email Address viewable to others;" and even change the number of Default Topics shown on a page. WHEN others click on your profile, they will see this information.

I just received the beautiful 36 roadster I purchased to honor our Ford dealership's 90th anniversary next year. We have a lot to learn, thank you all in advance.

I drove it carefully around the block and all went well except a hub cap came off. I reattached it, seemed good, and it came off again. Any tips? Also, I sadly learned the hard way how far over 2nd gear is and not reverse. The grind was sad, but doing good now. I do have to mostly stop completely to get to first which seems fine. Any other driving tips welcomed. I'm pretty good at driving a stick and tractors.

If anyone knows any history on my car, would love to know. I believe it was restored in about 2013 and won an Dearborn award around that year. I believe it was from PA.

First thing to check since the vehicle is new to you is --- do you have radial tires on the car? If so, they were not original equipment and will cause the rims to 'flex' a bit and may toss a hubcap. (just noticed your picture, and if it is of the vehicle with the missing hubcap--- then all torque will be applied to the right rear as you accelerate, so that could be a reason also.)

Second thing to check, do your rims have all the hubcap clips? There should be 5 of them per wheel rim. If missing one of more, that could be a reason.

Shifting is a standard H and should be syncro in 2nd and 3rd. Yes, 1st is almost stop to engage.
If you have the original designed brakes (steel rods to each wheel) then I suggest that you learn the "Drive for Five" procedure. You drive for yourself (1), you drive for the person ahead of your (2), you drive for the person to your left (3), you drive for the person to your right 4) and you drive for the person behind you (5). Learned this when I used to own a motorcycle and it applies so well to driving an old vehicle.

Lastly, enjoy your 1936 as you learn about it. There are many here on this forum that will be more than glad to answer your questions -- no matter how bad you think those questions are.

Thank you so much. The broker we purchased it through is knowledgeable in old cars and had his mechanic replace the tires. Yes it's the passenger rear that keeps coming off. All of the clips are there. But it's not a right fit. Do I need to slightly bend them a certain way?

Yes, you can bend the hubcap clips out slightly to provide a tighter grip on the cap.

Welcome to the Forum. That's a beautiful car. It's sure to be a hit with your customers and staff. Congrats on 90 years, quite an accomplishment for any business.

Your techs trained on modern vehicles will probably be scratching their heads over this car. You or they can come on here with questions, get advice from the old guys who have been working on these cars for years. Lots of "been there, fixed that" on this forum.

Check the spring clips that hold the hubcap and make sure they are tight on the rivets.

Those clips do wear out from rust and over-bending them back and forth. If they bend easily with your fingers, they’ll need to be replaced. Being of spring steel, a tweaking of the edge with your fingernail should produce a soft ringing sound. They are available from several suppliers we all depend on.
