Can anybody please tell me what’s up with these fender skirts?? Are they some sort of aftermarket skirt?? Am I better off showing this car at local car shows without these skirts??

A bit hard to tell if they are original skirts. The originals did use a chrome hex nut (in the same location) to latch into place but the nut on yours does not appear correct. Skirts are an accessory and 36 was the first year Ford offered them. Your choice keep or remove.

A local car show? Are you worried about being judged?

As a fellow '36 owner, having seen the photos in your previous post about shock absorbers, I'd say your fender skirts look excellent. Stock or aftermarket, so what? They're beauties.

“They’re beauties.” Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Each to his own opinion. I think skirts on our old Fords are uuuglyy! If you remove skirts can you expect to see some scuffing of the paint finish where the skirts had been?

40 Coupe, With respect, there were no "original" rear fender skirts for '36 Fords as Ford did not offer them.

Perhaps I don't understand the original question. The poster is seemingly concerned about "original" skirts when no such thing was offered. How about original color? A red '36? Mike "Kube" Kubarth
