Hello ! Contacting you from the overside of the Atlantic (France) ! I own a Ford Model Y from 1934 and its battery is missing... Thus, I need to buy a spare battery to start the engine. Would anyone of you know what kind of battery (I guess it's a 6 volts) is required for this model ? Thanks a lot ! Cheers

hi Ford y 34 You might want to look and see if a Vintage VW 6volt Battery is available in France, it just might work for you. make you check the position of the battery terminals, so they match up to the battery cables, it should be positive ground, be sure to check this out., I would think it would be real expensive to have one shipped from the U.S.A. hope this helps, 37Ragtopman, Maine IT WOULD BE GREAT if you could POST A FEW PHOTOS, of the Y34

Don't know for sure but I'm guessing that there are still plenty of old 6 volt tractors in France. I'd check with a tractor repair facility for a 6 volt tractor battery.

You might want to check with the U.K Regional Group as to the size and terminal location of the battery. They will also be able to tell you if the battery is connected Positive ground (positive earth in U.K terms). http://www.earlyfordv8.club/
