I was going through my recent copy of the V8 Times and noticed Robert Shewman's advertisement for a New Thermostat. Has anyone purchased these and used them on their flathead V8's? If so, do they work? I've got a 1946 1/2 Ton Pick Up with a stock flathead V8.

I have a pair on my 35 engine, they work well. When they open there can be a serge of water into the radiator and you can get some overflow. Take the water level down somewhat and no more overflow. I had to wait and wait for the engine temperature to get over 110 degrees without them now run 180 to 190 fairly quickly, just where I want to be.

I posted the same question in the General Ford Discussion and was directed to the Old Barn for some answers. Did a search and came up with both + and - reviews. I'll have to give some more deep thought to using them.
