I have a 40 wagon and it is very different than the sedans, coupes, etc. I used a 40 kit and had to add extra pads, blocks, etc. I would purchase the best kit you can find and then compare it to the pads now on the car. Then add extra pads as neded.

The mounting areas on the frame look the same as the Victoria. Would the standard kit plus some universal pads work possible? Or better off just buying the universal kit and fitting everything?

The problem arises from the fact that convertible bodies tend to be quite flexible due to the lack of roof support. I ran into the same situation with my '47 convertible, and used "universal" pads. C&G sells a kit with 50 pads of different sizes. We fabricated some wood blocks to put under several places to lessen the twisting of the frame on the body so the doors would shut and latch correctly, as well as stay shut on the road. If your doors shut properly, and the original pads are reusable, I wouldn't replace them, as it takes lots of work, plus trial and error, to get the job done.

For my 53 Sunliner convertible, cannot find body mount kits. All shown by the regular suppliers are "except convertible", or "2-door and 4-door sedans only". Looking at the frame drawings-the convertible and Victoria mounts look the same. Any info out there on how to get the correct pads/bolts for the convertible? Thanks, John Wells
