It’s definitely either a ‘37 or early ‘38 with block off plates. The heads appear to be cast iron replacements with block mounted water pumps. The distributor is a ‘33-early ‘36, but it doesn’t matter to the engine.

Thanks to all for the input. THE BEAUTY of flatheads u can put an engine together using parts from different years & end up with a really nice running engine .

It looks like a 37 engine with earlier heads and block off plates used to install the later block in an earlier car. I am not sure, so I would ask the 1937 Ford Advisor listed in the V-8 Times. I have attached some pages that I scanned in 2013. I think they are from a V-8 Times article. They can be used as a rough guide to the engine blocks used by Ford.

I do not know. It could have a later replacement (1937) engine block with the provision for using the block-mounted water pumps. The cylinder heads and distributor/coil on this engine are from an engine built prior to 1937.

No, this is not a 1937 Ford engine. This is an earlier engine.
