Thanks, 40 Coupe. All the pumps I’ve been looking at at the 32-36 variety that have the spot for the probe. I’ll keep your post in mind as I try and suss it out.

The standard size is 5/8-18 straight thread. 34 water pumps did not have a port for the temperature probe. 35 is when the port started on the left side (Drivers) only. All of the early 21 stud engines with temperature probe port are the same size, they have a seat on the bottom of the hole for sealing from leakage. .

If you are sure that the bulb will fit into the space in the water pump, you can either drill and tap the hole in the pump to allow the temperature gauge fitting to screw into the pump of have a machine shop do it for you.

I did and they didn’t know (at least the guy I talked to). I didn’t think to ask about return policy

Did you call and ask them if it fits? If they say yes it fits, then ask what their return policy is if it don't fit.

Hi—has anyone tried adding an aftermarket water temp gauge to one of the CW Moss replacement water pumps? Do they need to be adapted in any way to do so? I’m looking at this set below (see link) for my 34 truck, and was hoping the threaded port was standard. The one on my current pump is a bit too small for a standard replacement gauge’s options (even though the bulb would fit) Thanks in advance for any advice or recommendations https://cwmoss.com/products/water-pump-1932-36-v-8?variant=15810659745835
