Hello All, I'm a newer member, and a new owner of a 1941 Mercury Club Convertible. I know this is the Ford forum, but I'm looking for more general help and this seems to be a bit more active... While I am fairly handy, I am new to owning a car of this vintage. My car is pretty turnkey and original (original drivetrain). While I will feel pretty comfortable with basic maintenance, I'm wondering what is around my location as far as a classic car garage. I'm located in the far west suburbs of Chicago. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you! Chris

Chris, Are you a member of the Early Ford V-8 Club? Our group, Northern Illinois Regional Group #8 is located in the Chicago suburbs and we have monthly meetings in Arlington Heights. Where are you located? We have members with a lot of experience with these cars and can give you some leads. Unfortunately, most "classic car garages" are few and far between these days. A regional group membership can be a good thing. Ken

I agree with Ken. That particular regional group is full of good guys. You're joining would no doubt be helpful.

Thank you both for the response. I am just an online member to the Early Ford V-8 Club, but I think I'll look to joining the regional group. I have a few things that I'd like to address with my car sooner rather than later so help will be necessary. C.
