What is the proper negative 6-volt battery cable size, gauge, for my 46 Ford sedan/coupe? Thanks JW

Proper? They were woven (braided)... available from Carpenter.

Mike, I know you meant to point out that the POSITIVE cable was woven, un-insulated. The negative cable was insulated and likely 2 gauge. Most people prefer to use 1 gauge or even 0. Ken

The positive wire is woven, braided and grounds to the firewall etc. I want to know what gauge the negative battery cable is going to the solenoid. If you put a modern one on it will be too small to carry the proper current.

Ken, all I can say is "me= duh". Thanks Mister. I'll blame it on a brain cramp. I seem to be getting those more frequently.
