36 Ford fordor has a speedometer that registers speed but the odometer does not function

On my '38 the shaft pushes IN to reset, pull OUT to count miles.

as far as I can remember that shaft behind the speedometer only sets the trip back to zero, or you can set the trip has nothing to do with the odometer itself one thing I did find out the 3 number is a standard car,and trucks only reads up to 99 while Deluxe cars have 4 numbers and goes up to 999 35 39 cars, trucks you will have to have the speedometer looked at, easy to remove, maybe just a simply lubing might help or a loose screw ? easy to take apart, just be careful with the parts, my 2 cents 37Ragtopman
