Help early '41 hood support and spring install

If you are using the original support arms, there is no reason they shouldn't reinstall. Be sure you have them on the correct sides, and right side up.

Trying to install the spring on the supports while they are still installed in the car is difficult. Remove the hinges and suports and install the springs on the assembly while it is on the work bench.It will also save you from scratching the paint or having a spring fly through the air and causing any futher damage.

I removed the hood support arms and had new springs installed. Now, I cannot reinstall them. This is an early '41 that has brackets attached to the supports that are secured to the bolts on the firewall with washers and nuts. The holes on the supports are about 3/4-1" off alignment with the brackets on the hood. Is there something I'm missing regarding installation?
