A good friend recently gave me his 33 ford pickup with the B engine -- not a beauty but runs great-- under the hood, the headlight and other wiring is a mess of splices made with large wads of solder covered bt masking tape! I removed the switch box on the bottom of the steering box only to find it FULL of grease/oil-- need to figure out where this oil came from so can repair the leak and rewire with the recently purchased new switch box, etc, and new wiring harness-- trying to find out how to replace the cork gasket that apprears to be the channel of the leaking oil-- any help, advice, or guidance will be greatly appreciated!! Thanks! Bob

That oily mess is the steering box leaking. The vendors have a replacement bottom plate with a tube attached that when installed on the bottom of the gear box (with a new cork gasket) brings the tube above the level in the gear box. Then add PennRite steering box lube= No Leakee. Paul in CT

Most A vendors carry it: Snyder's, Bratton's, Tams and probably Bert's in Denver. Paul in CT

Thanks again for the help! Looks like I have a 2-tooth box- ordered the "tube" and a new steering housing end-plate-- I have several cork washers, however do not find the steering oil seal retainer -- Bob

Check with Michael at Third Gen Automotive or C and G Parts. Both are listed in our links/vendors section on this site.
