First time poster, longtime reader. Was hoping to get some advice on finding essential engine parts for my project. I will be restoring a family truck that has not seen the road for over 60 years. The truck is a 1936 Ford 1.5-ton model 51 flatbed farm truck. Most of the truck is there except for radiator, front engine mounts, air cleaner on top of carb and 6V generator. Like I said, just starting and want to plan as I go. There is no time frame on my restoration, just exited to bring a part of history back to life. I did order the Model 51 book to gain some history. Looks like you have quite a project on your hands. I have a 1927 ,same model as yours, 157 nch wheelbase rack body. Mine is in good original condition, tho I have a 59AB engine in it. I have an engine from a 1936 just kike yours, it is complete, but seized up , don't think I ahve any other '36 parts ad I got rid of them years ago. The '37 is almost the same as yours except the cab is different, I think that the frame is the same. The wheels for the 1936 and 37 are different in the offset from the early 1940's trucks. I have been dealing with '36 1.5 ton trucks for 67 years. This '37 I have i've owned since 1985. Good luck with your truck. I am more than willing to try and answer any question you may have. I am located in MA. haven't answered you before as I just joined the club.

I wonder if you may be able to assist. I am enquiring about the top left switch on my 36Coupe dash, what is this for?? All other switchers are operational except this switch. pulls in and out, but nothing seems to function. Any help would be appreciated.

That would be the dash light switch. Out will turn them on and pushed in will turn them off.

One of the best places to find parts for your old Ford vehicle is to post an ad on this website under the Parts Wanted area of the Classifieds.
