Sorry for the misfire, but I am having trouble posting pictures. This aircleaner is on a Tillotson Carb attached to a 33 intake. It does not appear to be an oilbath type. It has a bottom opening of 2 5/8. It has a bushing allowing it to fit the carb that has a top diameter of 2 5/16 Could it be the aircleaner referred to in the 1932 Ford book chapter 5 page 50 footnote (20)? There appears to be a rusty elipse on the side which looks as if it could be from a Ford sticker.

It looks a lot like the one on my '37. Check on the bottom for a part number. The '37 is 78-9600. Post what you find. Try posting on the "General Ford Discuussion" forum as it is definitely not a '32 but looks like a later Ford. Charlie Stephens

Looks like the one used on 1935 and 1936 Fords, there is a picture of it in the 35/36 Ford book, page105. Randy

The lesson for me here is to hit the books before asking questions! I found a cutaway picture of the aircleaner in question in the 1932 to 1936 Engine and Chassis Repair Manual page 25.
