Does anyone know who is selling reproduction license plate toppers of the one given out by Ford in the 40s that showed a cartoon character of a cop with the phrase "Let's take it easy?" I have seen them from time to time on Ebay. Thanks.

I don't think anybody reproduces it as there is quite a few original ones on Ebay at any given time. I bought one couple years ago on Ebay and it was NOS in original packing, all different prices at given times. Don't buy one for a 37 Ford coupe like I did,it can only fit on license plate one way and in way of opening trunk.

I know what you mean, but I use them on the front plate.

There are reproduction ones out there. Originals had the corners of the tab that fits over the license plate rounded. The reproduction ones have that tab at 90 degrees square. A lot of people have paid big bucks for the reproduction ones. Also, the originals had a little reflective material at the raised edges.

Regarding toppers of any kind, keep in mind that back in the day, there weren't any freeways. I lost a nice topper to wind vibration metal fatigue on the freeway.

If it matters... the one you are describing I am nearly certain is 1950s. And yes, reproductions of that one are available.

I have the 'Good drivers League' topper for 1940. I am afraid to put it on my car!
