Wow, great pictures Steve. This is very helpful. One picture is truly worth a thousand words! Thanks again for your help.

Sorry for the double post - have no idea why this happens sometimes.

ross49 - not the best pics but hopefully this one and the one to follow will give you the idea. The new fasteners are from Roy Nacewicz btw. Let me know if I can help you further on this - I've had the hood off a couple of times and will be glad to share lessons learned. The button-cap bolt on the back of the bracket is the bolt with the rubber washer/grommet on the inside of the car under the dash. This bolt has a square shoulder under the cap that fits into a square receptacle on the hood hinge bracket that keeps the bolt from turning when tightening. Steve

ross49 - wooddiewagon46 is on the mark on the rubber grommets and his overall description. While I agree with the recommendation to read the article, I will try to take a couple of pics tomorrow of my '47's hood attachments to the cowl and post them for you unless another member posts ahead of me.

Ross As woodie says definitely see the article in the V-8 Times. This will explain the procedure second only to seeing this done in person. Sure helped me.
