Any suggestions for source for spark plug wires for a 47 V8? I purchased some from Bob Drake, but very stiff and when pushing into distributor cap the brown insulation flakes off with the bending. Ideally would like right angle connector to plug. Previous entries advise to stay away from the carbon plug wires. Any thoughts?

My '47 has a set of copper core wires from C&G. The set is item 59A-12259-V8, about $50. They have held up well, and are flexible enough to permit easier installation in the "double" cap distributor. You can see the selection in their online catalog at www.cgfordparts.com

You would be better off converting the 2 cap 47 for a crab cap like a 42,same dist but diff rotor, clips, and cap, aqnd you could stay with your Drake wires as none have any sharp bends.Cost is approx. $60 to convert. Bonus is more room around dist. ken ct.

Saw these guys and what they sell at their Hershey setup. Very impressive. If I were in the market for sparkplug wires, and the correct terminations for these wires, I would definitely contact these folks for my needs: R.J. & L. PO Box 143 Penfield, NY 14526-7121 WWW.RJLAUTOFASTENERS.COM John

Send the wires back to Bob Drake. He should be made aware of the poor quality. Most vendors carry wires that will work very well in your car.
