I agree with Chascwell2 I removed my wiper motor in my '41 cleaned and lubed it as others have suggested. That was 16 years ago and they still work great. I even got caught in snow once and they shoved it pretty good. By removing the motor you can inspect the felt pad. You might want to mark the location of the hoses. That way if you get side tracked and come back to the job a day later you won't have to ponder.

You can do a lot for wiper motors and linkage with a little lubrication. Pull the wiper motor, carefully remove the cover and lubricate and clean all the moving parts. Don't forget to lubricate the linkage and pivots where they go through the cowl. This may be all you need

If the wipers aren't working, try squirting some oil into the vacuum supply hose and then working the wipers back and forth by hand a few times. Often that's all it takes to get them going again. There is a felt pad in the motor that dries out over time. Just a thought.
