Ray, Welcome. I love 1937 Fords. Get the club's 1937 Ford Book if you don't already have it. Great source of info. Please post a photo of your coupe. Would love to see it. Thanks. TonyM

Tony, Thanks for setting me straight. This is my first fordv8. Previous experience is 31 Model A 2dr and 28 Chevy Roadster. I just want something I can run down the road at a decent cruise speed and keep it as original as possible.

Ray, There is no such thing as a 1937 "Business Coupe." It is known simply as a Standard Coupe -- Model 770A.

There are two sets of holes in the crossmember for the bottom radiator mount. You may or may not have to use the forward holes. The "60' and the "85" car use the same inner horn/grille panel so you may not have to move anything. Also check the rear end ratio of your car. If it came with the "60" you may have 4.11 or 4.44 rear gears. You might want to think about 3.78's.

I am fairly certain the radiator and and radiator side shields are also different.

Thanks, What about the bottom radiator mounts? the 60 has the mount built into the front motor mount that will have to be removed to reveal the holes in the crossmember for the mounts for the larger engine. Since the engine will be several inches forward will there be any interference with the radiator? Thanks, Ray

The 85-100 hp motor will bolt right into the 37 frame. You will need to also change the transmission as the "60' trans bell housing will not work with the bigger motor.

I have a sickly 60hp in my coupe. I would like to go to a 100hp. What unforseen problems am I going to run in to? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Ray
