I have a 40 Ford Deluxe Sedan I am restoring. The original color was a shade of Maroon but I don't know which one. Is there a code tag or anything to identify the color without a chart. The paint on the firewall is still intact.

If it truely is maroon it would be Mandarin Maroon which was a very common color on Deluxe cars. There is a late color called Garnet which might look similar after all these years.

The Garnet Maroon is more red than the Mandarin Maroon. The Garnet Maroon was released in the Spring of 1940.
