The truck (1.5 ton) has sealed beams which were not wired in. I am replacing them with the original bulb and wiring system and am trying to figure what parts to purchase. The parts books indicate this should be a two bulb system. The wiring diagram indicates a wire into the bucket for a parking light and there is a wire for it in the harness I purchased. Is the second bulb a headlight (high beam?) or is it a parking light? I believe the cars and pickups are the same as the truck in this regard. Anybody out there know the answer?

Check out Ron Francis wiring stuff, he makes the best sockets. http://www.ronfrancis.com/searchprods.asp Yes, one parking light and one 2 filament headlight bulb. I'd run an extra ground wire too.

This is great information. It all makes sense now, and matches up with the wiring harness and the light switch. The Ron Francis site has everything. I didn't know about it. Thanks to each of you.

It turns out that the buckets are Guide model 903-J, an aftermarket product and apparently popular with hot rodders. I'm concerned that the '36 internal parts won't fit inside. Anybody know if that is the case?

I doubt that your Guide buckets would accommodate standard 36 Ford headlight parts. The 36 truck head lights carry part # 50-13005 and were used on 35 thru 37 pickups, panel trucks and large trucks, so they should be fairly easy to find.

For now, I will put new sealed beams and wires in the Guide buckets while looking for '35-'37 truck buckets. The parts number helps.
