I would suggest sending a couple core pumps to Skip Haney in Punta Gorda, Florida for a rebuild. You will stop the leak and get some improvement in cooling at the same time. JM

Ifr it is a very small leak, try prying the pulley (carefully) back and forth a couple of times with the engine off, of course. If the seal is stuck on the shaft, it may allow it to resume the necessary spring pressure. If not, I'd consider installing a pair of the new turbine type pumps. Over the years, I've found that it is wise to replace both pumps when one leaks, just as it always pays to swap out both headlights (or bulbs) when one fails. I don't know if it is "planned obsolesence", but almost always when one goes, the other follows quickly. With pumps, it eliminates draining the system twice, as well as jacking up the engine off the mounts.
