How do you ajust the idle speed? Thanks Sid

Sid: Two things affect idle speed. One is the screw on the throttle shaft, the other is the two idle bleed screws on the carb. Turn the bleed screws down, one at a time, until the idle speed starts to stall, then back it off the produce a smooth idle. The throttle shaft screw will set the idle speed. Don't set it too high, or it will affect shifting the transmission. I like to set the idle with a vacuum gauge, turning the idle screws for maximum idle vacuum reading. If you have a tach, set for about 500-600 idle rpm.

I do it a little diferent , I set the idle speed at 600 then i turn in the air bleeds until the engine speed starts to drop off, then i turn the bleed screws out until i get the peak rpm, then give it an extra quarter turn, if the idle speed goes over 650 at at any time i adjust the idle screw to 600 again and start over with the bleed screws now you have two ways to try
