Make sure to actually find the number on the frame and compare it to what is on the title. The title for my '41 had the wrong number on it for at least 25 years. When I moved to Ohio they wanted to actually SEE the number for the titling. That's when I discovered the problem.

Dennis, Welcome to the EFV8CA, our Forum, and to the world of Flathead Fords! Tell Donna she's welcome too! In answer to your first question (there will be many more), The number you have is a serial number which is also used to Title your car. The serial number of your engine/transmission assembly was transferred to the frame of your car, and is effectively it's VIN. We can date the manufacture of your car to within a month, but unfortunately, that's all the information that can be gleaned from the number. The Serial number will be one of three series, depending on the engine type, and the size of your Panel. BB-54-506501 & up 18-5210701 & up 99T-101701 & up One of these should be on your Title and on your engine or frame depending on the size of your truck. The number on your truck will also have a star* immediately before and after. The Phoenix RG#37 contact is Bert Snyder: bsnyder1938@cox.net.
