ive been told that a holly 21-29 is not the correct carb for a 1946 ford. if this is the case what is the right one ? it fits and runs well. plus my car is far from correct.. it has tube shocks and a glass pac muffler . aside from diff. type of fuel lines . keeping this in mind i dont think i could make it to a concourse judging event it will never be that pefect .

so what is the diff between the 59 and the 21-29? does this mean less gas feed or other issues?

If it ain't broke, don't fix it. In operation, no difference at all.

OK, you asked the difference... Small difference in control linkage, no effect in operation. External vent on the 21-29, internal on the 59. In operation, the external vent can dribble a small amount of gas on a hot day, whereas with the internal vent, if it isn't seen, it didn't happen.

As 38 said ,it will run just as good with either one. Its only a point thing and you have a driver not a concourse one. Drive it and dont worry about it. ken ct.
