I had something similar going on with my '35. As it turned out I had a dual filament halogen tail light bulb that had shorted across filaments or whatever their called in a halogen bulb. All seemed to work ok until I put the brakes on then some lights went out that should have been on and visa versa. Replaced the halogen taillight bulb with a standard dual filament bulb and now all is working well.

Ron, chances are you have installed halogen tail lites. In this case, nothing short of replacement with original bulbs will prevent this from happening. The sad part is the halogens aren't any brighter than originals through the red lenses.

Possibly a grounding problem.

When I depress my brake pedal with my lights on my tail lights go off and my headlights dim.
