Hey, fortyfordguy, planojc, supereal, ford38v8, and kubes40, thanks so much for all the very useful info and pictures. It really helps. I'm going to the flathead website right now. Thanks again, Rod

Here's a photo of a 39 "standard" model. Note the red stripes in the radio delete plate should be brown, not red. Mike "Kube" Kubarth

Rod, Planjonc has posted the answer to your question, and the picture posted by Supereal being that of a 39 DeLuxe Station Wagon, is very similar to your Standard, with some differences unrelated to your dash question. Mac Van Pelt has owned up to maintaining the website you found, one of the most useful, containing a lot of flathead info. Alan

Left side top, Throttle, under that Cig. lighter. Right side upper, Choke, uncer that ashtray. Light switch is on the horn rod.

That is our website....www.flatheadv8.com. We removed the sound of the running engine but all the parts drawings plus much more is there now.

I have a '39 standard. The switches are missing from the small panels on either side of the radio speaker louvers. Can anyone tell me what goes in there? The ashtray and lighter are on the right. Is that hole on the lower left for the headlight switch? Also, I found an early Ford website with a flathead on the homepage. It was running with sound. The website had some real neat schematics. I can't seem to find it again. Can anyone help me on this? Thanks in advance, Rod
