You can bet it won't be cheap. Last year, I replaced the driver's side mirror on my wife's Lexus. Not the whole assembly, just the mirror part. Our wholesale cost of that piece was just over $300! You didn't mention the year of your car. C&G shows replacement mirror glass for 32-36 for under ten bucks. Rear view mirrors that are silvered on the back of the glass like the household types often have an annoying double image, so check with anyone doing that work as to how they it is done.

I found the receipt for my re-silvering job. Here's the info: Frank Wright Glass Co. 14808 Gratiot Ave. Detroit, Mich. 48205-1943 TX 313-521-1888. I can only assume he is still in business. I had this done in 2006. The cost was $45 for the day night mirror in my 50 Ford. Hope this helps. John

I had the one for my 50 done about ten years ago. This was in Detroit on Woodward Ave. Cost about $20. I'll try and dig out the receipt for it.

Your best bet is to check with your local glass shop. You might also check the "services section" in Hemmings Motor News.

Can anyone recommend a person who re-silvers antique car mirrors. If so, did you have yours done and were you satisfied with the quality. Can you give me the vendors name, thanks
