Corect jack for 1947 ford

About a year I bought a jack for my 47 Ford Coupe. It has a dimension of about an inch in a square shape and is about 30 inches high. I was told that this was correct. This week I received another 47 Ford jack, this one for another 47 Ford that I am rebuilding. The shape of the shaft is completely different, with a rounded rear and a squared front with the same general dimension an inch. Which is correct?

I bought one of the two jacks from Lin Stacey. I just was wondering if there had been a mistake ot if Ford had used two seperate jack models. Ernie Gendron - Nashville Tn.

If you have the 41-48 restoration guide from the Early Ford V-8 Club there are some great photos of the various jacks that were used on the 46-48 Ford cars. The photos are in Appendix B pages 5-7. Apparently there were three different jacks from late '46 until Jan. '48. They are described in detail in the book. Knowing that Ford used up existing supplies on the assembly line you could probably have a '48 car with a '47 jack, or a '47 car with a '46 jack or maybe a '46 car with a '41-42 jack. They didn't let anything go to waste in those years after the war.
