Go to the NEW 40 FORD BOOK forum for a more complete description of the radiator mounting.

fortyford, Bolt through one washer from the bottom up, frame, rubber pad, radiator leg, spring, castle nut, cotter pin. The installation should not be tight, to allow engine torque and/or road conditions to lift one radiator leg against its spring. Just snug the springs.

I purchased a radiator mounting kit from DC for my 40 Ford.I installed the parts and it did not tighten up,so I had to add a washer on top and bottom. Can some one explain to me exactly how the parts are installed?Does the sring go on top or bottom and which way does the bolt go?
