The talk about mounting a mirror at the cowl lamp reminds me that my cowl lamps are loose. It's not obvious to me how one goes about tightening the retaining nut. Suggestions?

You can reach the retaining nut just above the kick panel on the iside of the cowl. As I recall it's a good sized nut(maybe 15/16" or 1 inch). If they are loose you may need to add a washer to take up the slack.

Thanks. I found the nut OK but it's not obvious to me what type of wrench would be used to tighten it. It doesn't seem to me that there is sufficient clearance to work a box end wrench up there. I was hoping to get a clue on this from someone who has BTDT.

Take the parking light apart, pull the wire out and you can get a 15/16 deep socket on it. They do not need to be super tight.
