I am having a problem sealing the copper gasket under the aluminum head. I used copper gasket spray but still got leaking. I pulled the heads and will take to a machine shop to check trueness. Would I be better off with a different gasket sealer , or a different gasket? Thanks

Consider the gasket made of the soft nonmetallic material. Some studs usually seep but stop over time.

You can use Permatex #2 non-hardening sealer on the cylinder head stud threads where they thread into the block to stop stud leaks.

I prefer the composite gaskets when mating to aluminum heads. There are often issues when placing copper against aluminum. They don't "play well" together. Aluminum can corrode where it contacts copper, particularly when moisture is present. Oxidation: Aluminum forms an oxide layer that can increase electrical resistance.
