After 80 years, the rear spring has lost its spring. I purchased a new spring from Eaton Detroit Spring, P/N ML 659. I will be replacing the shackles and bushings as well, and that is where the question comes up. I haven't removed the old spring from the car yet, to confirm the existing eye spring diameter or existing bushing sizes. From the Green Bible, if I read it right, the spring bushing is P/N 21A-5719-B, with an OD of 1-5/8", but the new spring eye is 1-1/8" I called Eaton, and the Rep. called back after checking their "original" drawings, to confirm that the 1-1/8" eye is correct. The Rep. gave me a P/N of the bushings they sell, HB 862 which measures; .0625" ID X 1.125" X 1.500" OAL. I'm good with the Eaton bushings OD and OAL, but is the ID the correct size? Suggestions on shackle pins and bushings #' is appreciated.
