My 46 wagon sits about 1.5 inches lower on the driver side than on the passenger side. I've replaced the rear leaf springs but the front springs have not been changed out. A friend suggested just reversing the front leaf springs, left to right, and see if that changes or corrects the 'lean' of the car. Seems simple and inexpensive enough to give it a try. Have any of you done this on your car(s), and is there anything that prevents the front leaf springs from being flipped left to right? I can buy new leaf springs, but this seems like a quick way of confirming that the front springs are the cause of the car's leaning to one side. Appreciate any thoughts about this.

The only other thing that can make a car lean is a frozen shock absorber. However, that's a long shot. Reversing the spring will only switch the side that is lower. Buy a new spring, install it and be done.

When you get out of the driver's seat, push the left side up. If it stays up, there is enough friction (rust?) inside the leaves to act like a sticky shock absorber. It would mean disconnecting the spring and its leaves and cleaning out the residue. I coated mine with "slip ease" while others use a liner (used to be sold by Drake) to lower the friction between the leaves.
