I have a 47 Ford Convertible. The trunk mat is no longer reproduced so I bought a new coupe mat and trimed it to fit. The floor is the same except where the spare tire is placed.. I took my time, fits nicely. It turned out better than I thought it would.

The following information for luggage compartment (trunk) floor mats is from the EFV-8 Club's 1949-50-51 Ford Book. "Black rubber mats were installed in all coupes and sedans and all model years except for 1951 convertibles and Victorias. Most 1951 convertibles and Victorias had mats made with a woven fiber material, however, there is evidence that some convertibles and Victorias came with the rubber floor mats." Hope this answers your questions.

In my question, I don't think I made clear that the mat is for the trunk. With the spare tire cutout and the axle hump, a flat mat just doesn't look neat. How much difference is the tudor sedan mat from a convertible mat? And what is the difference between the 1949/1950;s and the 1951? Thanks for the help. 42OINK

If you just want a black rubber mat and are not concerned with it being correct for show, you can buy a roll of rubber sheet material from either a hardware or auto parts store and cut it to size to best fit your trunk floor. Another alternative is to contact Classic Auto Parts at 1-800-654-3247 to see if they have a floor mat that will work or the rubber sheet material for you to use.

I have seen floor mats for 49 and 50 ford converts and tudors but not 51's. What differences are there and which one would be the closest substitute for a 51 convertible. I just want a rubber mat and this is not just for show. Appreciate any suggestions. 42oink
